Meet our new MD Adam Balkwill

Adam Balkwill is a choral director, pianist and baritone. He is the co-founder of the Kelmore Piano Trio as a pianist, of the Winding Ash Quintet as a baritone, and sings with the semi-professional chamber choir, Londinium.

Adam is the Director of Music at Holy Innocents, Hornsey, a post he has held since January 2022. Adam curates a regular chamber music recital series there, working with a wide range of singers and instrumentalists. Adam also directs professional and semi-professional singers at the church, who present sacred music as part of the musical offering for high feasts at the church. Adam runs a thriving private piano teaching practice, with students in South West and West London.

Future projects with the Kelmore Piano Trio include performances of the Ravel Piano Trio in A minor and Schumann Piano Trio in D minor (July 2026). Having taken part in the recording of a CD of Kenneth Leighton’s music in June 2022, Adam has just finished recording a CD of music by Joubert as a member of Londinium (June 2026).

Adam read Music at Robinson College, Cambridge and trained as a piano accompanist at the Royal Academy of Music, where he also received the LRAM for piano teaching.

Adam was appointed as MD at Thameside Harmony Chorus in February 2026, succeeding António Sà-Dantas.
